IBM has launched applications for Android-based mobile G1 and for Java-enabled phones that get you all the updates from Wimbledon as it happens there. Packed with a super-cool location-aware visualisation technology, Seer Android, as they call it, gives you real-time stats from Twitter. It also gives you comments from the players. Here's a demo.

The amazing feature is, of course, its location-aware technology taking advantage of the GPS of G1. Not only news about Wimbledon, if you are new at Wimbledon, it gives you direction and transport instruction for reaching the venues with easy-to-use maps.

Even if you don't own a G1 or an iPhone, IBM has an app that runs on most of the java enabled phones — IBM Seer. Just go to www.wimbledon.org/ibm/ and download it directly to your phone.
