CCleaner is a freeware utility used for cleaning up all the unnecessary files from your hard-disks. Unlike other cleaning-up utilities, CCleaner has more features than just moping up.

  1. Lightweight and available in portable variant too.
  2. Allows you to specify which of the files are to be cleaned. And that too setting separate preferences for separate applications. For instance, suppose you just want to clear the cookies of Firefox without touching that of IE; you can easily do this in CCleaner.
  3. Easily finds out which of the applications are to be checked and cleaned. Even "recent file history" can be cleaned.
  4. Has a built-in registry fixer. The registry fixer allows you to back up the registries before you fix them just to make sure you get back to where you have left in case you have messed up something.
  5. Has a superb built-in unistaller that makes uninstalling an application a snap. Just uninstall an application and fix the corresponding registries in the registry fixer.
  6. What's more! It's got a start-up manager too.  Just disable (or enable) those unwanted apps which fires up along with Windows.

All this for nothing! CCleaner is a freeware utility. You can download the latest version from here.
