After G-reader's so called "fresh new look", I was desperately looking for a substitution. It was Sathya, who recommended RSSOwl, a Java based open source RSS reader based on Eclipse platform. This is probably the best RSS reader I have used so far. Among numerous features, here are some of them:
  1. Fullscreen Exclusive Mode
  2. Support for Phrase Searches
  3. Improved Notifier
  4. Multi Tabbed Browsing
  5. Improved and secured embedded browser
  6. Advanced bookmarks filter
  7. Add-ons
Since it is based on Eclipse, you need Java Runtime Environment and that's all you need. Once unzipped from the zip file, all you need to do is to run the .exe (if you are on Windows.)
